Thanks for visiting my website!
I’m Hazel Meredith, owner of Meredith Images, with assistance from my hubby, Dave. I had been photographing most of my life – you know, the snapshot kind when you’re on family vacations – but when I joined a local camera club in 2002, I became active – very active – in the photographic community. I’m involved with local camera clubs; our state group, the Connecticut Association of Photographers; I’m a vice president for the New England Camera Club Council; and active in the Photographic Society of America!
After learning lots of the photographic “rules” at camera club – and then learning how to break them – I began sharing what I learned by teaching other photographers through adult education programs, camera club and conference seminars, and my own workshops and photo tours. Seminars range from Photoshop and PS Elements, to Lightroom, HDR, Working with Textures, Topaz Plug-Ins, Camera Basics and more.
I’ve done well in photographic competitions from the club level through PSA salons. I received four bronze stars and two silver stars from PSA for my journalistic contributions. In 2008 I received an honors distinction of Master Member of the New England Camera Club Council (MNEC) during its annual conference, and in 2012 received the PSA Service Award. In September 2013 I was awarded an APSA distinction from the Photographic Society of America.
In October 2015 I released my first eBook, “Working with Textures & Overlays: Turn Ho-Hum into a Work of Art”. I just love working with textures – there are SO many ways you can utilize them to accent your work. Book 2 is mulling around in my head! In June 2016 I opened my online store for textures, brushes, and more, called Peacock Studio at Meredith Images. Click the “Shop” tab to check it out!
I find all types of photography enjoyable, but tend to focus on nature and the great outdoors. Our National Parks have so much to offer! Dave and I have made many trips to the American Southwest – the stark beauty of the desert must really be seen in person to be appreciated. But we also love the mountains, especially the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
I truly enjoy helping others “take and make great photographs”, and I’m honored to be a part of your photographic journey.
